At the request of Senator Bragg, I move:
That there be laid on the table by the Minister representing the Treasurer, by no later than midday on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, all correspondence between Treasury and the Treasurer's office on the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Regulatory Guide 97 between May 2025 and March 2026.

by leave—I move:
Omit all words after "That", substitute:
(a) the power to order the production of documents is one of the Senate's most serious powers, and should be used when other processes have been exhausted rather than for fishing expeditions; and
(b) senators seeking to order the production of documents should consider paragraph (a) and refine their orders accordingly.

The question is that the amendment as moved by Senator Chisholm be agreed to. A division is required. The division will be deferred to the end of today's formal motions.
