I move:
That the Senate—
(a) notes:
(i) that on 19 November 2024 the Senate ordered that there be laid on the table by the Minister representing the Minister for Education, by no later than 5 pm on 24 November 2024, documents relating to wage increases for early childhood educators and care workers (no. 661) and the government response to the Productivity Commission report on childhood education and care (no. 662), and
(ii) on 25 November 2024 a claim of public interest immunity was made on the grounds that release of the documents would 'compromise the ability to confidentially brief the Australian Government in its Cabinet deliberations and may materially impact the functioning of Government';
(b) rejects this claim of public interest immunity; and
(c) requires compliance with orders nos 661 and 662 by no later than midday on 28 November 2024.
