The message I'm hearing really strongly across South Australia is clear: people want real climate action, they want more jobs and they want cheaper power. This is especially true in the seat of Boothby. Boothby feels the impacts of climate change very, very keenly. People in the hills know the threat of bushfire; they've lived through it, and they know that without real climate action things will only get worse. They'll see more fires burning more intensely. People on the coast know exactly what rising sea levels will mean for them, and no-one wants to see that loss of coastline from Glenelg to Brighton or anywhere else. The incredible natural environment throughout the electorate—Brownhill Creek, Belair National Park and so many other sites—is at risk as the climate changes.

Louise Miller-Frost, the Labor candidate for Boothby, tells me that it is a consistent issue that is raised with her on the ground. Louise is looking to work hard to deliver climate action, and an important part of what she's fighting for is Labor's Powering Australia plan, which will result in more jobs, cleaner energy and lower power bills. Creating jobs and reducing carbon emissions: this is what the people of Boothby are crying out for, and this is what Louise Miller-Frost and Labor intend to deliver. People in Boothby know that the climate is changing and they want to see this parliament take action. They want to see their representatives take action.
