I want to thank Senator Wong for her interest and her support in this and her help in changing it.

I move the motion as amended:

That the Senate calls on the Federal Government to work with state and territory governments to ensure Anzac Day commemorations proceed with fairness and consistency, consistent with health advice, in the same way governments facilitated other major public gatherings in the last 12 months, including the Australian Open, the football finals and the Black Lives Matter march in a COVID-safe manner

Anzac Day commemorations in states and territories are managed by the state branches of the Returned and Services League of Australia in conjunction with state and territory governments. Capacity restrictions for events held on this important day would be based on expert health and medical advice, as they've been for gatherings over recent months across Australia.

Question agreed to.
