I move:

That there be laid on the table by the Assistant Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and Financial Technology, by 9.30 am on 5 December 2019, the draft response to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Financial Services that relate to the Banking Code of Practice enforceable provisions and penalties for non-compliance.

The government's response to the final report of the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry was released on Monday 4 February 2019, three days after the final report was presented to the government. It's publicly available on the Treasury website. The government is taking action on all 76 recommendations contained within the royal commission's final report and, in a number of important areas, is going even further.
