I seek leave to make a short statement relating to my political party status.

Although I stood as a member of the JLN, I wish to notify the Senate that I will now be sitting as an Independent. In doing so, I intend to carry on a proud tradition of Independent representation in this chamber. I intend to treat each issue on its merits, and my door will always be open to everyone, but I do warn you I will be fighting for Tasmania.
