I wish to inform the Senate of the passing of former Chief Hansard Reporter, Mr Bernie Harris. Bernie joined the then Department of the Parliamentary Reporting Staff in 1964 and served the parliament for 38 years until his retirement in 2002. I note Bernie's many years of service to Hansard and the parliament and express my condolences on behalf of the Senate to his family and friends.
