I inform the Senate that I have received a letter from Senator Evans resigning his place as a senator for the state of Western Australia. Pursuant to the provisions of section 21 of the Constitution, I have notified the Governor of Western Australia of the vacancy in the representation of that state caused by the resignation. I table the letter and a copy of my letter to the Governor of Western Australia.
