Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations and School Education, Early Childhood and Youth: Funding (Question Nos 902 and 903)

asked the Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations and Minister representing the Minister for School Education, Early Childhood and Youth, upon notice, on 1 August 2011:

In regard to the department and all agencies within the Minister's portfolio, can a breakdown, by program, of spending be provided for the 2010/11 financial year in relation to the total portfolio expenditure on:

(a) advertising;

(b) travel;

(c) hospitality and entertainment;

(d) information and communications technology;

(e) consultancies;

(f) education or training for staff;

(g) external accounting;   

(h) external auditing;

(i) external legal; and

(j) memberships or grants paid to affiliate organisations.

The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:

A breakdown of expenditure, by individual program, is unable to be provided. Resourcing for these activities are not allocated, or recorded in the financial management systems, on an individual program basis.
