Cyber-Safety Committee; Resolution of Appointment

The President has received a message from the House of Representatives informing the Senate of a resolution agreed to by the House varying the resolution of appointment of the Joint Select Committee on Cyber Safety. Copies of the message have been circulated to senators in the chamber.

The message read as follows—

Mr President,

The House of Representatives acquaints the Senate of the following resolution which has been agreed to by the House of Representatives, and requests the concurrence of the Senate therein:

That paragraph (2) of the resolution of appointment of the Joint Select Committee on Cyber-Safety be amended to read:

That the committee consist of 11 members, 4 Members of the House of Representatives to be nominated by the Government Whip or Whips, 2 Members of the House of Representatives to be nominated by the Opposition Whip or Whips, 2 Senators to be nominated by the Leader of the Government in the Senate, 2 Senators to be nominated by the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate and 1 Senator to be nominated by any minority group or groups or independent Senator or independent Senators.
