by leave—I am pleased to inform the Senate that the Leader of the Opposition has appointed Senator Mitch Fifield as the Deputy Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate. This is an important gesture on our part to assist the government in the management of the chamber. I am pleased to congratulate Senator Fifield on his appointment. I am sure he will do an outstanding job.
