SELECTION OF BILLS COMMITTEE

REPORT NO. 1 OF 2010

1.
The committee met in private session on Thursday, 4 February 2010 at 11.51 am.
2.
The committee resolved to recommend—That—(a)   the provisions of the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Sexual Offences Against Children) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 15 March 2010 (see appendix 1 for a statement of reasons for referral); and(b)   the Criminal Code Amendment (Misrepresentation of Age to a Minor) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 30 June 2010 (see appendix 2 for a statement of reasons for referral).
(a)
the provisions of the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Sexual Offences Against Children) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 15 March 2010 (see appendix 1 for a statement of reasons for referral); and
(b)

The committee recommends accordingly.

The committee deferred consideration of the following bills to its next meeting:

  • Governance of Australian Government Superannuation Schemes Bill 2010
  • Keeping Jobs from Going Offshore (Protection of Personal Information) Bill 2009
  • Superannuation Legislation (Consequential Amendments and Transitional Provisions) Bill 2010.
