On indulgence, I endorse the remarks that were made this afternoon with regard to the retiring Clerk of the Senate, Harry Evans, and thank him personally for all his advice and assistance to me as a senator over 15 years. I also note that Dr Rosemary Laing is here in the chamber tonight, and I congratulate Dr Laing on her appointment as the next Clerk of the Senate.
