The President has received letters from a party leader nominating senators to fill vacancies on two statutory authorities.

by leave—I move:

(1)

That, in accordance with the provisions of the Archives Act 1983, the Senate elect Senator Lundy to be a member of the Advisory Council on Australian Archives for a period of 3 years, on and from 12 March 2008, in place of Senator Faulkner.

(2)

That, in accordance with the provisions of the Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Act 1948, the Senate appoint Senator O’Brien as a trustee to serve on the Parliamentary Retiring Allowances Committee Trust on and from 12 March 2008, in place of Senator Faulkner.
