I move:

That the Senate—
(a)
notes that:
(i)
the tenth conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 2004 declared that reflection on the ethical dimensions of climate change was urgent because, unless the ethical dimensions are considered, the international community may choose responses that are ethically unsupportable or unjust, and
(ii)
Australia’s faith communities have declared climate change to be a moral and ethical issue; and
(b)
calls on the Government to:
(i)
acknowledge that climate change is a moral and ethical issue, and
(ii)
act accordingly.

Question agreed to.
