I'm glad the Prime Minister is here to listen to this because, since the parliament last sat, there have been two key pieces of evidence which go to the heart of the Prime Minister's ability to tell the truth in this parliament. At a Senate inquiry last week, it was revealed—when officials were asked about the Marrickville Golf Club grant, they responded:

The sewerage works are not in the scope …

Then at Senate estimates last night we got this from Senate officials at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts when they said, 'Sewerage is not a component of this grant.' The Prime Minister three times in this parliament has said that it was when he defended the $6.1 million that went to the Marrickville Golf Club. I say to the Prime Minister when are you going to be able to admit that, when you get it wrong, that you have done that and apologise to the Australian people? Your lack of ability to admit to your mistakes means that Australians are hurting. Because when you can't tell the truth, Australian people hurt.
