Under Labor, Australians have experienced the worst collapse of living standards in the developed world. This government has a lot of nerve telling Australians to tighten their belts when it refuses to tighten its own. Australia was once called the lucky country, but under Labor Australians are lucky if their paycheque lasts a week. Australians are working harder and paying more, and getting less in return. That's not the Australian way.
Yesterday the coalition announced $31 billion in savings. The coalition will cut Canberra's bloated bureaucracy. We will axe costly net zero schemes. We will end billions of dollars in corporate handouts. The coalition will drive down inflation by cutting wasteful spending. We'll ditch Labor's net zero obsession, end the green hydrogen fantasy and the subsidies in renewables, and scrap the electric vehicle concessions and make electricity affordable for everybody. We'll build Australian sovereign capability and back our manufacturers, our resources industry and the businesses that make this country self-sufficient. Our tax back guarantee will mean bigger tax cuts; that's more money in the pockets of hardworking Australians. A pay rise should make you better off, not leave you paying more tax. The coalition will restore prosperity and protect our way of life. Australia is worth saving.
