House debates Questions without Notice
Goldmining Industry: McPhillamys Gold Project
Jamie Chaffey Parkes, National Party, Shadow Assistant Minister for Agriculture

My question is to the Prime Minister. Prime Minister, the billion-dollar McPhillamys goldmine near Blayney was blocked by your government at the eleventh hour. Today, the Federal Court ruled the decision was 'made without authority'. Who will the Prime Minister hold accountable for a decision that put hundreds of jobs and billions of dollars worth of investment into the Central West on hold?
Anthony Albanese Grayndler, Australian Labor Party, Prime Minister
I thank the member for his question. I am aware that the Federal Court has handed down its judgement for this matter. I understand the court found the declaration was not validly made. This is a complex legal case. As it's a legal matter, we will work through the judgement together with the Attorney-General and we'll consider the findings very carefully indeed.
