My question is to the Minister for Small Business. The ATO Commissioner of Taxation made the decision to ban credit card payments from small and family businesses on 25 September. He says he informed the government immediately. Yesterday the minister admitted the first she heard about the ATO's ban was on 1 October, the day it became public. Has the minister asked the Treasurer why he kept her in the dark?

I answered questions on this yesterday. I've been clear that small businesses should have been consulted on the credit card ban, and I recognise that the Treasurer acted really swiftly to provide transitional funding so that the ATO can continue accepting credit card transactions until the end of the financial year.

The member for Goldstein has been interjecting nonstop during question time. There's an MPI before the House. He's the author of it. I assume the House and the member for Goldstein want the MPI to proceed. To assist the House and to assist him, let's have no further interjections and we can have the MPI.
