In 2019, Labor infamously stated, 'If you don't like our policies, don't vote for us.' And guess what? Australians didn't. Currently they hold a 94-seat majority in the House. But I could make a small prediction that, after the next election, Labor tacticians will be sitting there and going, 'Where did it all go wrong? How did we lose so many seats?'

On 12 May on the ABC, the Treasurer walked into the studios and said, 'We know we're going to lose some political paint. We know there's going to be some political damage from this budget.' 'My word is my bond' was a phrase touted by the Prime Minister before the election. 'I didn't fall off the stage'—when all of Australia witnessed it. 'You'll get a $275 reduction in your electricity bill.' 'For the 50th time, we are not touching negative gearing and we're not touching capital gains tax.'

The political paint that is going to be lost at the next election is by Labor betraying the trust of the Australian public, saying one thing before an election and doing another. It will come home to roost. As for the Treasurer then also stating that we're going to be voting against tax cuts, that is another mistruth. We supported those. We asked Labor to split the bill, and they didn't.
