Last Friday I had the honour of welcoming the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko, to the Sunshine Coast. The ambassador is a true advocate for his people in Ukraine. We had a wonderful afternoon. He was able to come and visit a business called Sunshine & Sons, which is actually in the electorate of Fairfax. Ted O'Brien, the member for Fairfax, and I joined the ambassador there. These guys are donating $43 for every bottle of gin to go towards landmine clearing in Ukraine. Ukraine is the most mined country in the world, and it will take decades for landmines there to be cleared. To Sunshine & Sons: well done, good effort and thank you very much for your assistance to the people of Ukraine.

We also went to Eniquest, which is a business in my electorate that provides generators for Bushmaster vehicles. The Bushmasters are now renowned for their service in Ukraine. Finally, we did a community forum, with 200 people from my electorate attending, where the ambassador spoke about the problems and the huge human toll on Ukrainians in his country. Slava Ukraini.
