This is my last presentation of petitions and ministerial responses for the year, so I would like to take the opportunity to reflect on the committee's achievements and the outstanding support that petitioning has had from the public, who have been significantly engaged despite the challenges that this year has provided. This year, the committee has:

            It is no surprise that, while petition topics varied, we received a large number regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and related matters. These are obviously very important issues that concern us all, but I sincerely hope that next year sees significant issues coming to the forefront as the pandemic impacts our lives less and less.

            I'd like to thank my colleagues on the committee for their work this year, and I look forward to continuing our important work together when we meet again after the break.

            Mr Speaker, I'd like to congratulate you on your recent appointment. On behalf of the committee, we look forward to your support of the petitioning process and will provide you with regular updates on petitioning matters. I wish you and all members of the House a safe and enjoyable festive period.
