Mr Speaker, can I add my personal congratulations to you on assuming the role of Speaker of this House. It's a great honour. It's one that I know that you will fulfil to the best of your ability, and that ability is profound. I know that you will come to this place with a great deal of integrity and common sense and that you will uphold the true nature of the role with great aplomb. So congratulations to you, and I commend you for what you've achieved so far during your parliamentary career and this next chapter.

(2) Mr A. D. H. Smith be appointed a member of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services.
