The long-awaited proposal for faster rail on the Sunshine Coast has failed to make it onto Infrastructure Australia's priority list because of the total contempt shown for the project and for my electorate of Fisher by the Queensland state Labor government. Infrastructure Australia acknowledged in their evaluation that the coast needs new infrastructure, including rail, to deal with our growing population and increasing congestion.

Just listen; you might learn something. The Minister for Urban Infrastructure informs me that the project could still receive state and federal government funding in the future. However, no progress will happen without a clear indication from the Queensland state Labor government that they are willing to get behind this project—
