Today we honour the memory of Goldstein resident Anton Hermann, who lost his life in a cycling accident in Queensland. A long-time friend of Anton said he was a very special man who devoted his time to his family, his friends and his community. Professionally he was known as the pro bono community director at Minter Ellison. While I knew Anton for only a very few short years, his reputation in community involvement preceded him, most notably in his finishing role as Vice-President of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria. The JCCV have publicly declared his passing will be felt across the Jewish and wider Melbourne community owing to his genuine care and knowledge and his bridging of differences across political, religious and legal spheres, together with his personable, empathetic and honest approach. It's people like Anton who make our country great. Our thoughts are with him, his wife, Karen, and their children, Joel, Ella and Talia at this time. May peace be upon him. Yehi Zichro Baruch.
