I have to report to the House that on 1 March 2019 I received advice from the Chief Opposition Whip nominating Ms Sharkie to be a supplementary member of the Standing Committee on Economics for the purpose of the committee's inquiry into the Banking Amendment (Rural Finance Reform) Bill 2019. In accordance with standing order 229(b), as the House was not expected to sit for several weeks, the appointment became effective on that date. I now call the minister to move a motion to resolve the membership of the committee.
