The Moreland Awards for 2018 were recently announced, honouring individuals and groups who have worked towards enriching community life in Moreland, which my electorate of Wills encompasses. The Mayor's Police Leadership Award winner was Sergeant Lauren Lupi, who has served the Moreland community since 2007. The Collaborative Partnerships Award winner was Inner North Community Foundation, an independent community foundation that does great work. The Contribution to Arts and Culture Award winner was Howard Norsetter, who leads the Moreland City Band. The Contribution to Sport Award winner was the Coburg Lions FIDA, which gives people with an intellectual disability a chance to play footy, and it's a great club. The Youth Contribution Award winner was Achmel Temple, who came to Australia as a refugee and has completed a diploma in community services.. The Community Event of the Year Award winner was The Longest Rally, which raises funds for a charity helping people who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth and newborn death. The Volunteer of the Year Award winner was Margaret Partridge, who has volunteered tirelessly in her community. The Honouring Women in Moreland winner was Kajal Kiran, a member of the Didi Bahini Samaj Victoria, a group of strong, active Nepalese women.

I just want to congratulate all the award winners and thank them for the service they've given to their community and the way they've touched so many lives in our electorate of Wills.
