One of the issues that we've been dealing with is the tendency of the opposition not to tell the truth when it comes to funding of schools and hospitals, and we've just heard it again in this chamber. The fact of the matter is that this government is providing billions more over 10 years for schools, and in Corangamite our funding to government schools increases from $40.1 million this year to $48.8 million in four years time and then grows to $63.1 million in 2027. That's record and growing funding from the Turnbull government.

It was my great pleasure to visit Oberon High School, in Belmont, a few weeks ago to present a flag and talk about the wonderful work that they are doing at that school. It has a wonderful spirit and ethos. It's punching above its weight in so many respects. But it's been badly let down by the Daniel Andrews Victorian Labor government. Despite the promise that a new school was desperately needed and the great hope that there would be funds in the budget for construction, there was absolutely nothing in the last state budget, except a very small amount for planning works. Shame on Daniel Andrews and the Victorian Labor government. Oberon High School needs to be relocated to Armstrong Creek. These funds are desperately needed. I call on the government to provide this funding.
