I have been misrepresented by the Minister for Health in the debate that has just concluded, and also by the member for Barton, who both wrongly said that I advised the Hawke government to introduce a co-payment. As correctly reported in The Australian today, I opposed the co-payment in 1991 and I oppose it today. The Minister for Health and the member for Barton should tell the truth.
