I rise to add my voice to the chorus of voices around the world talking about the tragedy that is unfolding in the Soma mine in western Turkey. I note that the member for Kingsford-Smith spoke on this yesterday. At least 274 people are dead in Turkey's worst-ever industrial disaster. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those people, Turkey's 77 million people, my Turkish community in Reid and all Australians of Turkish descent. As we turn our minds to next year's Anzac celebrations, we know we have a wonderful relationship with this wonderful country, forged originally in warfare. I would ask everyone in this chamber and around the world to turn their minds to the families and friends of those caught up in this disaster at this most horrible time of their need.
