I move:

That this bill be now read a second time.

This bill is the second of five bills related to the imposition of the minerals resource rent tax that are being introducing to this session of parliament.

The bill provides for amendments to a range of acts that are necessary to facilitate the operation of the minerals resource rent tax.

It also provides for transitional matters relating to the enactment of the minerals resource rent tax.

I commend the bill to the House.
