It was my pleasure to attend on Sunday, 1 May the annual Gladysdale Apple and Wine Festival at Gladysdale Primary School. I want to pay tribute to the Gladysdale Primary School principal, Garry Lewis, who was the director of the festival. This is the major fundraiser for the primary school and a pivotal community event in Gladysdale. I pay tribute to the winner of the music competition, Katrina Marchese. I congratulate her. It might surprise honourable members that I co-judged this competition along with former student Nicole Livingston and country and western singer Steve Eales. You might think it was a lucky occurrence, but I congratulate Katrina. I also congratulate the school council president, Roslyn Firth, together with the principal, who I mentioned. Gladysdale Primary School is a great school. It is great because of its great community spirit and the dedicated volunteers, community members and teachers at the school. It was a wonderful festival and I look forward to attending it again next year on 6 May.
