Mr Deputy Speaker, I wish to make a personal explanation.

Does the honourable member claim to have been misrepresented?

Bob Baldwin

Yes.

Please proceed.

The previous speaker said I had misled the House on tourism funding when I said the tourism budget had been cut. I seek leave to table a report from the Parliamentary Library showing the budget expenditure representing the diminishing value of the dollars provided by the government to the tourism industry.

Leave not granted.

Mr Deputy Speaker, on a point of order: to further clarify my misrepresentation I would state that—

Ms Anna Burke

Ms Anna Burke Deputy-Speaker

No, you cannot clarify. You have made your point.

Then I need to point out where I was actually misrepresented.

Ms Anna Burke

Ms Anna Burke Deputy-Speaker

You have already done that. You wanted to table a document. You sought leave and it was not granted.

Order! The time allotted for this debate has expired. The debate is adjourned and the resumption of the debate will be made an order of the day for the next sitting.
