My question is to the Prime Minister. Will the Prime Minister guarantee all Australians that the government will not increase existing taxes or impose any new taxes, increased fees, charges or duties of excise in the May budget?

I say to the honourable member for Gippsland that, as he would know if he paid attention to the government’s consistent policy on tax as a proportion of GDP, we will adhere to the promise that we made before the election. Our policy has not changed.
