It is my intention to issue a writ on Monday, 19 May 2008 for the election of a member to serve for the electoral division of Gippsland to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr McGauran. The dates in connection with the by-election will be fixed as follows: close of rolls—Tuesday, 27 May 2008; nominations—Thursday, 5 June 2008; declaration of nominations—Friday, 6 June 2008; polling day—Saturday, 28 June 2008; return of writ—on or before Wednesday, 27 August 2008.
