My question is to the Prime Minister. Can the Prime Minister confirm that the Australian Public Service Commission’s ministerial conversations event held in the Great Hall on 12 August 2005, which featured the Prime Minister, cost taxpayers $60,000 for two hours, including venue hire? How much did the Liberal Party pay for the hire of Kirribilli House for a similar period from the $8,250 per head charged?
John Howard (Bennelong, Liberal Party, Prime Minister) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
I cannot confirm the cost of the Public Service Commission event to which the member refers without getting advice, but I will get that advice and I will be happy to provide it to him. In relation to the event at Kirribilli House, as I have indicated previously, all of the additional costs, which were in the order of $5,100, were paid by the Liberal Party.
