towards recognition, reconciliation and closing the gap. This is about recognition of First Nations people in our Constitution. It is an advisory group whose only power will be the power of its ideas. It will have no right of veto. It will have no capacity to direct the government or to direct the parliament. The primacy of parliament is there.

I think it is a pity that these interjections occur consistent with, as Michael said this morning in his letter, our former prime minister Howard asking Australians to 'maintain the rage'.
